Trail Overview
This is a simple out-and-back trail at the Kimble Bottoms ORV area, known as "The Desert." The trail consists of some gorgeous views (especially in the summer) of the Missouri River. The trail can be done in a stock 4x4, but be careful and take your time. The terrain is generally a mix of dirt and sand (which can be deceptively deep in some areas). It can range from medium difficulty to extremely difficult depending on conditions after rain or snow. The general area is a 410-acre recreational area that is free for the public to use. It's a very unique place; it contains numerous off-road vehicle trails ranging from 1/10 to 10/10 difficulty. In the summer, you'll see people in everything from stock Jeeps to dirt bikes to monster trucks. Free primitive camping is allowed. On weekends in the summer, it's very popular, but it's used year-round. If you're not from the area, it's worth the trip to spend a weekend camping and off-roading in the summer. Please tread lightly and follow all local rules and regulations.
