Trail Overview
This out-and-back is a well-maintained seasonal road with some loose rocks on the larger side that get kicked up occasionally from the road surface. This track narrows in sections, so always be aware of the possibility of traffic coming the other way. This road takes you through an old Tughill plateau settlement and includes a maintained cemetery on the grounds of St Patrick's church that existed from 1861 -1941.

Difficulty
This seasonal road is not very difficult at all. There are some puddles you commonly find on all seasonal roads in the area, and it does narrow up a bit in sections, but overall this is an easy ride.
History
Along the trail, you will come across the grounds of St. Patrick's Church, at Maple Ridge, which was organized by its first paster, Reverand Cornelius Fitzpatrick, in 1859, the year the church was said to be built. The following year (1860), the Catholic Church's Bishop John McCloskey purchased the property. John Corrigan and John F. Smithling were among the incorporators of the church in 1873 and served as the first lay members. Smithling and his wife's parents were born in Ireland. The parents of James Heffernan (shortened to Heffany), said to have owned the home where the first church meetings were held, were born in France, and his wife's parents were born in Ireland. John Corrigan was born in Ireland. Additional census records and obituaries show many Irish families worshiped and were buried here, including many Civil War Veterans.
