Trail Overview

This is 1.6 miles of Jeep trail through a sand wash. It starts on oilwell roads on either end and stays in the wash the entire time. There's an off-camber entrance into the wash on the east end that makes it more interesting. It's also only one vehicle wide at times, so it's much narrower than most of the other wash trails in the area that are super wide the whole time. The narrow wash is lined with tall dirt walls at times, making it feel even more narrow. There's an old rusted abandoned car on the side of the wash that's funny to see. You can exit the wash on the west end to go onto a ridgeline up towards one of the oil wells or stay in the wash longer to the next oil well road.

Access Description

The Glade Run Recreation Area is a high desert playground full of extreme rock crawling trails, sandy washes and desert ridgelines. The southern 3,800 acres are an Open OHV Area, while the northern three quarters of the rec area are limited to designated routes, which include unvegetated wash bottoms that are wider than the widest part of your vehicle. The main staging area is at the intersection of Glade Road and Pinyon Hills Blvd. The BLM has official ratings for the 4x4 rock crawling trails, but conditions and difficulty ratings are constantly changing in the desert.
