Trail Overview
This is a quick little detour to a fairly steep (32 degrees in some places) trail accessed via the oil roads north of Bloomfield. You'll wrap around a hill to an oil pump area and the trail takes off from there. After a small and rolling ride across a mild hogback, you start your climb to the top of the hill. There's a lot of loose rock and you'll want to pop your 4x4 into 4WD low. If there is rain or snow creating mud and slippery rocks, this is not a trail to attempt. Once arriving at the top, you get a view of the cross and a fantastic 360-degree view of Bloomfield and the country around--all the way to the San Juans to the north and Angel Peak to the southeast. Have fun heading back down again.

Difficulty
The last quarter mile or so to the top of the hill jumps between a 25 and 31-degree grade, much of it loose, round rocks. On the way back down the grade, you can't see the road when you first start to descend until all four wheels are pointing downhill. 4WD low is a good idea. The size of the rocks make this is a much more difficult trail for a motorcycle.
