Trail Overview

Arch Trail starts on a dirt trail on top of the mesa with slickrock layers and has lots of moderate and advanced obstacles throughout the 1 mile route, plus more optional obstacles to test your driving skills and vehicle. It goes along the rim of the mesa, with great views over the edge. There is a big optional obstacle right next to the arch rock formation. It drops down a loose dirt hill with slickrock layers and climbs up a blunt ~5 foot tall ledge. There are several steep and loose climbs. Noggin Hill, which is not optional, is a steep ~5-foot-tall slippery rock face with a crack down the middle that will be difficult for a bike because the crack sucks you in, but UTVs and Jeeps can straddle the crack.

This is rated a 6 per the BLM but it still has 5+ foot tall obstacles, so it's more like a 7 per the OnX trail system. Per the BLM, you'll experience 20-degree grades and 30-degree sidehills. A minimum of 35" tires and front or rear lockers are recommended (at least one). The trail is 1 1/2 vehicles wide, and ATVs are not recommended. Access Description

The Glade Run Recreation Area is a high desert playground full of extreme rock crawling trails, sandy washes and desert ridgelines. The southern 3,800 acres are an Open OHV Area, while the northern three quarters of the rec area are limited to designated routes, which includes unvegetated wash bottoms that are wider than the widest part of your vehicle. The main staging area is at the intersection of Glade Road and Pinyon Hills Blvd. The BLM has official ratings for the 4x4 rock crawling trails, but conditions and difficulty ratings are constantly changing in the desert.
