Trail Overview
The Overwhich Road, FS 5703, is notable because it provides access to the Jew Mountain and Overwhich Creek OHV routes as well as access for fishing and dispersed camping. Starting from the West Fork Road, the first two miles of the Overwhich Road is a two-lane, maintained gravel road suitable for any vehicle type. Past the trailhead for the Jew Mountain trails, the road narrows to a one-lane, unmaintained route more suitable for high clearance vehicles. The road dead ends at a gate, and that also marks the beginning of the Overwhich Creek ATV route (FS 674).

History
The first few miles of this road pass through a stunning stand of majestic Ponderosa Pines (also sometimes called Yellow Pines) that is an area designated for the study of these remarkable trees. Ponderosa Pine trees typically grow to a ripe old age of several hundred years and can grow to diameters of 4 or 5 feet. Very impressive trees indeed, and suitable to the climate in this area because of their resistance to drought and wildfires.
