Trail Overview
Auggie Cutoff TrailThis short cutoff trail is a great way to hop from Rice Ridge to Morrell Clearwater. There are plenty of pullouts to make camp close to town and a few bars of LTE cell service. The trail is heavily wooded to the west and transitions to clear burned-out forests to the east. Some sections have muddy potholes and some ruts that may get worse the wetter it is. But overall, it's in good condition with pullouts to allow oncoming to pass by. In the springtime, there is a plethora of wildflowers bursting with color. Some of the Mountain Views from the trail are outstanding as you pass through the corners. Overall it's a great way to connect the two main access trails in the area and even find a spot to sleep for the night.
