Trail Overview
This route follows a narrow one-vehicle-wide track through the forest with a mix of dirt and loose rock surfaces. Tight sections between trees and overgrown brush require careful tire placement and slower speeds, especially for wider vehicles. Light pinstriping is possible in several areas where vegetation crowds the trail. Along the route, you will pass near private property, so remain on the established path, keep noise down, and be respectful of the surrounding landowners. The trail offers a quiet backwoods feel, but it does come to an end. Beyond the turnaround point, the remaining path has been reclaimed by nature, requiring you to turn around and exit the same way.

Difficulty
Best suited for high clearance SUVs, trucks, and 4x4s. The route is mostly straightforward, but its one vehicle wide, tight spots between trees, and overgrown brush require slower speeds and careful placement. Light pinstriping is possible, especially for wider vehicles. Loose rock and uneven sections may be slick when wet. The trail ends at a turnaround, requiring an out-and-back return.
History
Mark Twain National Forest was established in 1939 and spans large portions of southern Missouri. Many roads and routes through the forest originated as access roads for timber, land management, and rural travel, and today they provide access for recreation and outdoor exploration.
