Trail Overview
This trail begins at an intersection marked by the remains of a burned-down house, a clear sign of past fire damage in the area. As the trail heads toward the lake, it passes through a stretch of forest that has also seen significant fire activity, with charred birch and pine dominating the landscape. Along the way, there is a residence next to the trail and lake where rebuilding efforts are underway. Just beyond the house, there is a walk-in water access suitable for canoes and kayaks, along with a small parking area. After this point, the road narrows and becomes increasingly bumpy as it skirts another lake. Eventually, the trail comes to an end at a locked gate placed across what is confirmed to be a public road. A sign reading "Deer Camp" is posted on the gate, though the closure appears to be unauthorized, as Forest Service maps show the remaining part of the trail to be open to all vehicles. The trail offers no formal or dispersed campsites and is entirely without amenities--there are no trash bins, restrooms, or sources of potable water. Cell service may be limited or unavailable depending on location.
