This trail offers a fairly easy ride, making it suitable for beginners or anyone looking for a relaxed off-road experience. The path is mostly dirt-based and features a few gentle hills that provide slight elevation changes without being too challenging. You'll also encounter several small mud puddles, most of which have solid bottoms and are easy to navigate. One of the more unique aspects of this trail is that it runs parallel to the park's guard rail barrier, offering a sense of orientation and visual reference as you go. There are no major obstacles to overcome, making it ideal for stock vehicles and casual exploration.

History
The Iron Range OHV Recreation Area was built on reclaimed mining land, once part of the rich Mesabi Iron Range that fueled U.S. steel production for over a century. Today, this 1,200+ acre site blends industrial history with outdoor adventure, offering a rare chance to ride through the remnants of Minnesota's mining legacy.
