Trail Overview
This trail is composed of brown gravel and shows signs of wear, with noticeable water damage and frequent corrugation, making for a consistently bumpy ride. It winds through forested terrain and includes several steep ascents and descents. While the trail is relatively narrow, it is generally wide enough for two vehicles to pass each other with caution and reduced speed. The route leads to Kawishiwi Lake Campground, where there is designated parking and access to the lake. On a midweek visit in July, the parking area was already full, indicating regular use and the need to remain alert for other vehicles. Several side trails branch off the main route, though most appear overgrown and are not well suited for full-size cars. Along the way, the trail passes through attractive woodland and crosses a creek, with a small lake also visible from the road. While scenic in parts, the trail requires attentive driving due to its uneven condition.
