Trail Overview

Camp 26 Truck Trail is a key access route in the Linwood Lake area, primarily used by local residents. The trail is long and generally wide, with a loose gravel surface that can become dusty and heavily corrugated in places. It's not a route for speed as local traffic is frequent and often moves quickly, so caution is advised. Numerous spur trails branch off from the main route. Some are well-maintained and lead to private residences, while others are faint or overgrown, with conditions ranging from drivable to impassable. Many of these side trails are used seasonally by ATV, side-by-side, and snowmobile riders. Camp 26 connects East Town Line Road to Rudy Perpich Memorial Drive, crossing several small creeks and rivers along the way. While the main trail doesn't offer formal or informal campsites, and there are no amenities such as water, trash bins, or restrooms, dispersed camping may be found along some of the side trails. Cell service is limited or unavailable in sections, so plan accordingly. Dispersed camping is generally permitted in the Superior National Forest outside the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, but visitors should confirm with local authorities before setting up camp.
