Trail Overview

This trail begins at Highway 2 and crosses a set of railway tracks as it makes its way toward the private Otter Tail Peninsula Township, an area made up of scattered homesteads and houses. There are signs of families living in the area, including children, so caution is advised when driving. The road is mostly well-maintained at first, offering a smooth drive, but conditions change after crossing the bridge. Beyond that point, the trail appears less regularly maintained and has not been cleared of fallen trees when visited, likely due to damage from heavy storms in June. The surroundings become more overgrown, and progress may be slower depending on recent weather. The trail does not offer any formal or dispersed campsites and lacks basic services such as trash disposal and drinking water. Cell phone coverage in the area may be limited or inconsistent.
