Federal Forest Service Road 3578, also known as Raco, is a federally owned, Level-2/ Level-3 "two-track" forest road with a surface composition of dirt, sand, gravel, and native material. This route is currently open and in fair condition; it is not a DNR road (ORV use subject to local government regulations) and connects Pendills Lake Road, FS 3577, FS 3380, FS 3622, FS 3581, and FS 4102. History
This route traverses through the remote Pendills Creek area, a watershed flowing from Pendills Lake through cedar swamps and sand dunes into Lake Superior's Pendills Bay. Historically, this area is defined by the spring-fed creek system, which flows through a region noted for its timber, including maple and birch, near Raco, Michigan.
