Trail Overview
National Forest Service 6458 is a seasonal bidirectional trail within the Manistee National Forest. Located just west of Baldwin, this cruising trail is easily accessible. This track will be sure to deliver with its beautiful natural views of the forest. You surely will enjoy this route. A few sections towards the second half of the trail tend to get a bit rutted out, but like most of Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause unfavorable conditions on the trail, including downed trees, mud holes, and washouts. Come Prepared! Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle, with limited places to pass. This is an easy trail, but it's a lot of fun, contains a great amount of natural beauty, and gives access to other great trails nearby. The north end of the trail finishes at the bend of NFS 6808. One last thing to mention is that this trail is a seasonal trail that is used for snowmobiling during the winter months. Regardless of the conditions, this is an awesome trail! PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY and be respectful of our public lands so future generations can have access to these trails!
