Trail Overview
NFS 6004/6005 is an easy out and back offroad trail, located less than a mile off M-37 near Pickerel Lake. The trailhead can be found directly off West 15 Mile Road, making this track easily accessible. The trail is a combination of sand, dirt, and grass, and weaves through a beautiful section of the Manistee National Forest. Like most of Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause mud/water holes that can get rutted out quickly. Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle with limited places to pass. Regardless of the conditions, this is a great trail! LASTLY, there are spur trails off this route that lead to private property. Please be respectful of the local landowners and the public lands that we get to use and follow the rules and posted signage.
