Trail Overview
The N/E Little Manistee motorcycle trail is part of the greater Little Manistee Loop. The total of the outer loop spans a little over 40 miles. There are 4 main sections with a cutoff option in the middle. This 24-inch trail runs parallel to a 72-inch ORV route. This trail is a primarily sand-based trail. Generally, the trail has sunk 1-3 feet below the surrounding land. Very easy to follow. There are a few sandy hill climbs, but no significant obstacles. The most difficult section of this trail is found in an old pine section just north of 7 Mile Road. There is a little over a mile of exposed roots that may be challenging when wet. When there is no moisture in the ground the unending depth of the sand can pull on bikes and significantly increase the difficulty of this trail. A little bit of moisture, such as recent rain or even morning dew, can make this trail significantly easier to ride. Dust is also something to be prepared for when multiple riders are riding in proximity.
