Trail Overview

Winfield Lake Track is an out and back run that provides good views of the lake and surrounding area. This is a municipal lake and there is a day-use fee of $5.00. There is plenty of both primitive camping and full hook-up for campers. The back part of this track is not suitable for large campers as there are some steep grades and areas of break over. Please stay on designated tracks.

Difficulty

Track contains a few sections of small rock ledges and depending on rain fall, shallow water crossings. Also expect mud if there has been recent rainfall and depending on amount of rain, not completing the track to reduce wear on the dirt sections.

$8 for entry now instead of advertised $5 but worth it for a fun hour of trail! The first mile or so were very easy and was hard packed dirt roads - plenty of sedans and low clearance vehicles were present. Once you get to the back half of the trail it gets a bit trickier, nothing a standard truck can’t handle. We engaged 4H for the majority of the drive. Some fun minor rock obstacles , plenty of off the path trails to explore with your vehicle, and changing scenery. Bumpy roads and dirt make it a blast to drive. I’d recommend tall sidewall tires or you can destroy your rims on the ruts and minor rocks in the way.
