Trail Overview
The Overlook Trail can be accessed from Old Route 13 beside the Powerline Trails or from the Amax Haul Road. This trail runs along the high wall of a strip pit and features a nice overlook with a bench at the top. Approached from the north side, the trail begins as an ascent up the high wall with a rocky hill. The Overlook trail then levels off along the ledge and is followed by a descent with one final hill at the south end. There are a few water holes, no deeper than 8 inches, to be aware of depending on the season of travel. The rocks on the hills can be loose or slippery during wet seasons. The Overlook Trail is periodically resurfaced with a dozer to prevent hazards to riders. When a dry season is present, this trail can be explored with ease on a two-wheel drive OHV, although wet conditions can require the use of four-wheel drive to complete. This route is accessible by SxS, ATV, and dirt bikes, and falls into the blue difficulty rating.
