Trail Overview
Started this route up the Crooked River road 233, which is an easy road that can be traveled by all vehicles. We are on ATVs and hauling a Yutrax trailer with camping gear. We parked at a campground and left our trailer there for 4 nights, and all was good. There is a more direct route to stay on that road all the way there, but we did a detour across 522 and 522b. The 522 B road was not for cars, but easy enough on an ATV. Then we connected to 1803, the road to Orogrande, which is one of the oldest towns in Idaho. It's scorched earth from a fire that has not yet started to regrow. 1803, though had a closed gate before we could get on Moose Butte for a view. The 821 connector that we went on was not technical at all for an ATV. Once you get into Orogrande, the sign up to the lake is easy to see. It's a long climb up to the lake, but you eventually get back into some trees as you get close to the lake. The lake was beautiful, but the mosquitoes were THICK! We were going to stay two nights, but we moved on because of this. The road on from there back into Jumbo Creek is rough and would be fairly tough in a Jeep. We didn't care much for it with ATVs loaded down with gear, and didn't go too far back.

Difficulty
Most of this was easy forest road, but we took a few ATV/UTV-only connections.
