Trail Overview

South Fork Timber Creek #5127 is an easy ATV trail that begins at the end of FSR 50627 off of Smokey Canyon Road, in the Caribou National Forest. Follow the short rutted dirt road for a half mile, through a small stream crossing, to the start of the trail, which is more like a continuation of the road. The trail continues south for 1.3 miles, paralleling the South Fork Timber Creek through grassy, flat terrain. The route is mostly flat and gradual, meandering through forested sections with a few big dips and uneven patches but no major obstacles. It's wide enough for 50-inch vehicles to maneuver comfortably. The southern end becomes tighter and more cluttered with stick debris from previous log cuts. Large downed logs block the farthest southern point, marking the end of the route. The trail does not connect to any other routes and must be ridden as an out-and-back, but it makes a good trail option for beginner rider or families with kids looking for a short trail option to practice their skills.
