Trail Overview
Get off the highway and take this stunning scenic trail. The trail can be run in either direction, but it's recommended to run it towards the town of Stanley because the constant views of the Sawtooth mountains are just stunning. The trail is grated gravel and dirt and can be bumpy in sections, but it's nothing challenging. A few narrow sections with pullouts would require one vehicle to back up to a pullout if oncoming traffic is encountered. The journey is breathtaking, full of creeks, fields, marshland, trees, and mountain views in every direction. Large herds of Antelope roam these wetlands, as well as Cranes. This trail leads to a network of other trails and dispersed camping. It is worth a look, and it's just off Highway 21. There is no winter maintenance or cell service in this area.
