Trail Overview

This is a 2.8-mile-long easy 50" trail through the Canfield Trail System near Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. It has no obstacles, just smooth wide dirt going through a pine tree forest. There are a few old logs down that have been cut, but there's always the potential for more downfall in the early season. There was one log down that needed to be cut for ATVs. It oscillates between dark forest sections and wide open terrain with loose gravel. It's fun for ATVs but is pretty much just a transfer trail for dirt bikes. It has water bars going across the trail to prevent erosion that has created little rollers to jump off of. It ends at a 3-way intersection on another two-track that will take you to ATV trail 1562.

Access Description

This is a small trail system for dirt bikes and ATVs right next to the town of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, that has a little bit for everyone. It has hard trails, easy trails, single tracks, and two tracks in a really cool environment. It's close to town, but you can still see wildlife here including deer and moose. There are parking areas at the end of Nettleton Gulch Road and up East Fernan Lake Road. These are multi-use trails shared with hikers and mountain bikers, so please be respectful. There are sometimes trail signs at each trail, but there are often lots of unmarked intersections, and it's like a maze of trails here, so it's really helpful to have a map out here. You may get 1 or 2 bars of cell service while on the trails, but may also have no signal so remember to save an offline map ahead of time. It's hot in the summer here, and rainy/snowy in the winter, but it's rideable almost all year long, although best in spring, summer, and fall.
