Trail Overview

This is a technical single track with sections of major exposure, making this one a high-risk endeavor for anyone not comfortable with side-hilling on the side of a mountain. Although a short trail, this one is challenging due to downed logs tight switchbacks, and lots of side-hilling. It shortcuts from the Dam Ridge ATV trail down to Dam Creek singletrack, which will take you back out to Slate Creek. It's also very overgrown, making the sections of exposure even harder because you have to go through so many tree branches sticking out over the narrow trail, affecting visibility, and pushing you around. The switchbacks are very tight and steep, but they don't have any rocks or roots on them. The hardest part about the trail is the exposure on such a narrow trail because sometimes there are small jagged rocks embedded in the trail that make it even spicier. At the top of the trail, there are a few downed logs that can be ridden over with the right technique. It would be much harder getting over the logs if going uphill instead of downhill because they are on somewhat of a slope. The very top of the trail turns into a wide path like an ATV trail before it connects with the Dam Ridge ATV trail.

Difficulty

This is a very challenging single track due to downed logs, major exposure, overgrowth, and tight switchbacks. The exposure would be challenging regardless of which direction you are going, but the logs would be easier to go over if going downhill (from Dam Ridge ATV trail to Dam Creek).
