Trail Overview

Tour the City of Rock National Reserve. This road takes you through the heart of the City of Rocks and through The Twin Sisters rocks, a landmark used by the emigrants while on The California Trail heading west, and also south towards the Salt Lake Valley. Plenty of opportunities for taking pictures, places to camp, and many outdoor activities! Please note, no generators while camping is allowed, and SXS, ATVs, and Dirt Bikes are discouraged from using the roads in the Reserve, please observe the quiet environment while visiting.

Very well maintained, wide, and accessible to most vehicles. Not maintained during the winter months, can be muddy, washed out, and rutted during spring run-off.

Used by Emigrants on the California trail. It is the southern leg splitting off of the Oregon Trail, split towards Nevada and then California, or towards the Salt Lake Valley.
