Trail Overview
Aspen Range - Middle Sulphur #5248 is an easy 1.9-mile-long ATV trail that starts near the Wood Canyon Motorized Trailhead and offers a smooth, gradual route through forest terrain. From the north end, the trail follows a wide path with large waterbars and deep dips in between, passing through a logged area with piles of cut trees and sections of grassy, debris-covered ground. It climbs briefly out of the logged zone and connects with Road 5248 for about a quarter mile before turning into another section of 50" trail, continuing through open meadows and pine forest. The remainder of the trail features shallow ruts, small loose rocks, and a gentle descent, with big waterbars continuing throughout. The surface remains very easy to navigate, and the overall ride is mellow and beginner-friendly. You can combine this trail with #5249 for a short and easy loop near the staging area.
