Trail Overview
This out-and-back trail, typical of those found in the Chattahoochee National Forest, follows a mostly gravel road with some dirt and muddy sections. While generally maintained, drivers should expect occasional ruts and minor washouts. Most vehicles should have no trouble navigating the route. The trail is mostly two-lane, with a few sections that narrow to a single lane, and ends at a locked gate with a small turnaround area. Cell coverage is minimal to nonexistent, so be sure to come prepared with emergency supplies and reliable navigation tools. Numerous walking and horse trails cross the road--these are clearly marked with a red diamond and a number, and motorized vehicles are not permitted on them. At the trailhead, there is a large parking area suitable for vehicles with trailers, an outhouse-style bathroom facility, and a small pavilion that offers shelter or a spot to enjoy a quick meal out of the sun.
