This scenic 9-mile trail winds through a diverse mix of terrain--ranging from sun-dappled pine ridges and shaded hardwood bottoms to gravel roads and shallow creek fords. Difficulty

This trail had a lot of water crossings and deep, rutted sand. The sand can be deep, so 4-wheel drive is needed, and the water crossing can be up to 10-12 inches deep. There are some rocks and downed trees that you will need to navigate around, but overall, it is just a peaceful trail.

Access Description

Take GA-11 north between Gray and Monticello. Becoming Route 11 north of Round Oak, turn west onto Round Oak-Juliette Road for 3 miles, then left onto Allison Lake Road to reach the Visitor Center.
