Trail Overview
Powell Ford Road runs as a quiet connector through a mix of shaded oak canopy and open pine flats in Jennings State Forest. The surface is primarily firm, packed sand with scattered light gravel, making it easy to travel in dry conditions. Occasional soft edges and light washboarding may appear after rain, but no major obstacles are present. The trail passes through areas with wooden fencing and designated parking or staging spots, making it a convenient starting point for exploring nearby forest roads. Views alternate between closed-in forest corridors and open stretches with long sightlines. Wildlife sightings are possible, especially deer and a variety of native birds.
