Trail Overview
This trail is located within Osceola National Forest and the Osceola Wildlife Management Area. The trail is open to public access year-round unless otherwise posted. This trail may be ridden by registered motor vehicles, all-terrain vehicles, recreational off-highway vehicles (side-by-sides), and unlicensed or unregistered motorcycles. Vehicles are only allowed on named and numbered trails. There are select areas where county-owned and maintained roads prohibit the use of OHV's, ATV's and unregistered/non-licensed motorcycles on the right of ways. These areas are well posted on the shoulders of the roadways. This is the only National Forest that offers fee-free, no-permit-required access year-round. Giving this trail a rating was difficult. Once on the trail, it could be rated a 1 despite being somewhat narrow. Depending on the route chosen, leading in and out of the trail, could put it at a 3. Therefore, plan for a 3 but expect a 1 on the difficulty level. This trail does not connect directly to an improved or paved roadway and requires traversing other interconnecting trails that make up this portion of the trail system. Depending on the chosen route, high clearance or 4WD may be required. Once on the trail, it was able to be completed in 2WD. The trail is primarily a single vehicle-wide trail with areas for passing. Wheel ruts, whoops, and some minor cabin roll (about enough to splash your coffee in the cup holder) can be expected. There are some minor ledges as the shoulder slopes down into the drainage ditch that parallels the trail. This is a scenic connector trail leading to various other spur trails.
