Trail Overview
This trail is located within the Osceola National Forest and the Osceola Wildlife Management Area. The trail is open to public access year-round unless otherwise posted. This trail may be ridden by registered motor vehicles, all-terrain vehicles, recreational off-highway vehicles (side-by-sides), and unlicensed or unregistered motorcycles. Vehicles are only allowed on named and numbered trails. There are select areas where county-owned and maintained roads prohibit the use of OHV's, ATV's and unregistered/non-licensed motorcycles on the right of ways. These areas are well posted on the shoulders of the roadways. This is the only National Forest that offers fee-free, no-permit-required access year-round. This is a good trail for new adventurers, as access from the northern trailhead is off the paved County Road 250. This trail can be an out-and-back or used to access numerous other trails. The trail is not very difficult and is easy to complete in less than an hour. High clearance and 4WD are not required. The trail is mostly two vehicle wide with ample area to pull off if needed. The trail is composed of compacted sand and dirt. Rutting, potholes, and contours in grade can be expected. This trail leads through a variety of landscapes, ranging from pine/oak Hammocks, hardwood swamps, and wetland/marsh areas. Following rains and or storms, the trail may go unmaintained for a period of time.
