Trail Overview

Yankee Hill is an easy to intermediate trail with some flat and even areas, while others have rocks and other obstacles. The trail has some nice views near pile hill to the North. This trail winds through the forest and is in the active creek bed; the water can sometimes be up to 12 inches. This trail will be great all year long, but it can be narrow in places; wide vehicles should take caution.

Super fun trail. Did it in my stock rubicon. I would say a spicy 4.5. Narrow, very rocky and have some tight spots but otherwise super fun. Lots of tree roots too that are often misleading with a big drop at the end so be careful on those if you don’t have a super high clearance vehicle. Some parts had some snow but nothing crazy. Couple puddle crossings with one in particular that was about 9 inches deep.

First time for me. riding a very tall seat height, XR650. it took a lot of muscling the bike around. very rocky. I wouldn't say it's for a beginner. 2 inch lowering kit is in my future! ride hard and take chances 🤘🏻

The creek is flowing on to the trail in some places, but there are few ruts as it is early in the season. Mud is not deep and this could probably be done in a stock 4x4 with careful tire placement on the right sections.

Some snow in the shade. Enough for the road to be snow covered. Quite wet in places with some running water on the trail and some decent sized, semi frozen water crossings about a foot deep. Rock gardens we're fun with snow in them.

Yanke Hill/Mosquito Hill before descending into St Mary's city there's still deep snow that's impassable. Spring melt has made this more difficult than I remember it being last year due to wash outs.
