Trail Overview

The trail is fairly easy when conditions are good; when muddy or snowy, it becomes more difficult. There are some ruts to contend with in areas, a couple of steep short climbs, and in the wintertime, there is a section where it is very icy on the west end of the trail as you head downhill. Along this trail, there are designated areas where you are permitted to target shoot.

History

This area was part of the Hayman Wildfire in the late 90s, which was the largest wildfire in Colorado until a few years ago.

West side of the trail was very washed out and rocky from recent rainstorms, east side was in normal condition with some mud and puddles.

This was a fun little trail. I came in from the back side and exited out through to 67, and it started worse than it ended. At the front, it’s easy dirt road with tons of places to shoot. Getting out to the back, it’s much more narrow and through the woods-y. There’s a really steep hill that I came down that may be hard for some to get back up if going north to south. Tons of trash, pretty sad.
