History

The dam for Long Draw Reservoir was completed in 1929. Thirty years later the dam was expanded, flooding an additional 390 acres of the Roosevelt National Forest. Water for the reservoir comes from La Poudre Pass Creek, which flows out of Rocky Mountain National Park.

Access Description

From Fort Collins, take Highway 14 west about 52 miles from Highway 287. Turn left on wide gravel road with large gate (F.S.156) across from parking lot on right.
