Trail Overview
Coyote Ridge is a short trail in the Dry Creek Recreation Area, but fun and with a fantastic view along a ridge line, and shouldn't be missed if new to riding this trail system. It's an easy climb up from the north trailhead to the top of the mesa with excellent views of the valleys and canyons below you. The trail goes right to the edge of the hill in the beginning with a cool view down the hill. It's mostly dirt with small to medium-sized rocks, but no significant obstacles or ledges. It's one of the easier trails in this trail system. It crosses the flat top of the mesa and then switches back down the other side of the mesa. The switchbacks are steep, but banked and wide and pretty easy with no rocks in the way. After dropping off the mesa, you can take a short section of jeep road to the Coyote Cutoff Trail to ride another short similar trail back to the same road you started on. The Dry Creek Recreation Area is a highly trafficked area, especially on weekends, so you have to look out for oncoming riders.
Difficulty
Rocky and curvy trail with no significant obstacles makes this an easy trail.
