Trail Overview

This advanced trail is open to ATVs, dirt bikes, mountain bikes, hikers, and horseback in the warmer months. Beginner riders are not recommended. There are over a dozen water crossings, some deeper than others. There is a section where the trail becomes the creek and you must travel up/downstream. Depending on the time of year, these crossings could have more water present. A couple of challenging rock gardens exist, with large loose rocks to navigate. Downed trees may be present on the trail, especially early in the season. A couple of gates were noted, particularly one about halfway through. Gates are accessible to the public, just be sure to close them for the livestock. At the southeastern end of the trail are two cabins: Off Cow Camp Cabin & Fitton Guard Station Cabin. Beautiful mountain views with forests and aspens. The trail leads to a wide-open, sweeping view of Bennet Peak.
