Trail Overview

This 3.76-mile point-to-point route connects Benton Crossing Road to Wilford Canyon, crossing open meadow terrain between the Eastern Sierra mountains and the Glass Mountains. Starting 0.6 miles east of Brown's Fishing Camp, the trail cuts through a sea of sagebrush ranging from 1 to 3 feet tall. The sand and pumice surface is relatively smooth overall, with slightly rougher sections as you progress. The landscape offers 360-degree views in every direction, giving you a real sense of the high-desert expanse. It ends at the FS 3S264 trail just before entering the canyon, making it a great connector route.

Side-to-side whoops appear in the first two miles. A short section of drainage ruts crosses the middle of the trail. A few ruts under 12 inches may give really low clearance vehicles problems. Some rocks appear right before reaching Wilfred Canyon.
