Trail Overview
The entrance to the Rubicon Trail Foundation Property is marked by a sign posted on a tree, leading you down into the trees. The trail is no more challenging than the Rubicon Trail sections you've already navigated to reach this point, but it's not a walk in the park either. The trail is well-marked, and you must pay close attention to the markers to avoid driving off a ledge, which could leave you upside down. The Little Rubicon Creek crossing is only a few inches deep. After crossing the creek, look for the first skull sign with an arrow directing you left, away from Hower Hole. The next landmark is a trash can marking the start of Trash Can Hill. There, you'll find a second skull sign indicating a right turn to avoid driving straight off a 20-foot cliff. Trash Can Hill is the most difficult obstacle to conquer on the descent to the property, and when returning, preset winch points are available if you need extra assistance.

Difficulty
There are a few large rocks to crawl over and Trash Can Hill is steep. There are a few off camber spots and if you don't pay attention to the signs things can go bad quickly.
History
The Rubicon Trail Foundation (RTF) purchased the property in 2010. Hower Hole was named after Ken Hower, who rolled his RZR there in the early days. Trash Can Hill earned its name after a work project left behind a Rubbermaid trash can. The president at the time later removed the can, but due to popular demand, it was returned. Eventually, the original can deteriorated in the sun and was replaced with a metal can as a tribute to the original.
