Trail Overview

The trail is a less-traveled path than most in the area. Starting from Benton Crossing Road, the trail climbs up a pretty canyon which is lined with rock formations, pine trees, and lots of bushes.There are great views of the Eastern Sierras once you get up the hill and head toward Casa Diablo Cutoff.

Difficulty

Water runoff comes down the hill at the beginning, just off Benton Crossing Road, which causes ruts and soft sand or mud.

History

Fishing, water sports including watersking and wakeboarding are popular on Lake Crowley and Owens River. Finding and exploring the mysterious columns as well as various hot springs is also a fun activity. Climbing in Benton Crags, Owens River Gorge, or Casa Diablo Mountain.
