Trail Overview
Round Mountain Loop is a three-mile trail starts at the North side of Owens Gorge Road. It is a sandy trail that winds through tall pine trees and various rock formations. It is a relatively wide track. The trail gives you nice glimpses of the Eastern Sierra Mountains. As you continue, the trail does get rough with many ruts from water run-off. About a half mile from the end at Sheep Camp Road, the trail is so heavily rutted that it is impassable. You will have to take the Round Mountain Loop Alternate to continue or go back the way you came.
