This 1.5-mile route is a well-defined single-lane track with a smooth surface of sandy decomposed granite, allowing for an efficient and quick ascent or descent. Crucially, the entire road passes through the high-severity burn area of the 2020 Creek Wildfire, leaving a visually striking landscape of skeletal snags and wide-open sky. While the ground is smooth and fast, the drive requires constant vigilance due to the persistent threat of falling dead timber and debris.
