Trail Overview

A trail hidden within the mountains of Joshua Tree that detours from Old Dale Road and Brooklyn Mine. It cuts through the mountains on rocky shelf roads that descend and ascend on loose rocky hills and traverses through a sandy desert wash. The trail has amazing history with its abandoned mining areas throughout and dispersed camping wherever your choose. A must-do trail for the overland or experienced off-roader looking for a great day away from the city.

Difficulty

80% of this trail is loose rocks that can reach sizes of up to 24", and loose sand that can be deep. There is a section in the wash that you have to navigate through a rock garden and hills you will climb that are loose with sand and rocks. Expect steep and narrow shelf roads and deep ruts over a foot deep.
