Trail Overview
Nemo Canyon Road is an easy two-track that runs about 2.5 miles to two mine sites. The trail has minor ruts and rocks and follows the canyon to an old mining area where the route splits. Continuing straight a short distance leads to the Christmas Mine, a filled-in shaft that was worked for silver and lead from at least 1890 through 1948. Turning right continues to the Nemo Mine, where remains include rails, trestle bents, and a small adit with timber framing. As the trail continues, the canyon narrows and can be tight for full-size 4WD vehicles before opening onto a shelf road. Larger vehicles may want to park and walk the final short stretch. Turnaround is limited to the mine site or a few wider spots, with space for only a couple of small vehicles at the end. The mine site offers great views over Emigrant Canyon Road.
