Trail Overview

This trail allows you to bypass the steep hill climbs leaving the main Dove Springs OHV staging area and climbing up above the valley floor. The trail is a hard pack road with some minor ruts and parallels the LA Aqueduct pipeline on the left. In a short distance, the trail starts a slow descent with trails SC103 and SC173 heading West. My route takes a right turn onto SC171 which is a soft double-wide trail that again begins a slow climb toward the foothills. Just before the trail intersects with SC173 you will see the remains of the old San Antonio Mine site to your left.
