Trail Overview
This is an out-and-back spur trail (6-miles round trip) off Indian Gorge Road that leads to a dead-end box canyon. The trail is only single-vehicle wide, relatively flat, and comprised of packed dirt with sections of shallow sand. At the dead-end, there is a protected area large enough for up to five vehicles to set up camp comfortably. There is also a palm tree oasis a few hundred feet away, which can be reached by a hiking trail. This trail passes through Anza Borrego Desert State Park, where only street-legal vehicles are permitted and must remain on the main trail path. Cellular phone service is poor to absent in the area. Please TREAD LIGHTLY and Pack-it-Out.

Difficulty
This trail is relatively flat and consists primarily of packed dirt with sections of shallow sand. Infrequent rocks protrude 6-12 inches from the ground near the edges. It is only one vehicle wide with few places to pull off to allow other vehicles to pass. 2WD vehicles with moderate clearance should be able to manage the route easily unless there is significant rainfall, which could make some sections difficult to pass without 4WD or AWD.
