Trail Overview

Indian Falls Ridge is a fun and moderately easy trail on the north end of the Mount Hough Trail system, which is mostly fast and flowy, with a few more technical sections, and great views. The west end starts in a burn area on an easy path, with minor embedded rock surfaces. It starts to ascend as it winds across the hillside on a gradual grade, and goes past scenic rock outcroppings like tall spires lining the trail. There is mild exposure as the trail is more shelfy in some sections, and it has incredible views as it gets really high up on the hillsides. It goes up a couple of steeper switchbacks, but they are wide and smooth. It gets a bit rockier on the east end, with some embedded rock in one of the switchbacks, but it still has big banked corners and flowy sections. It goes past a couple of scenic viewpoints on the east end of the trail overlooking Indian Valley, which makes a great place to stop for a break. The side of the trail is lined with rock outcroppings and boulders, making a nice place to sit. The east end of this trail easily connects to the Mount Hough Trailhead at the north end of Road 403.
