Trail Overview
Prepare for a dramatically scenic drive through the heart of the 2020 Creek Fire scar along the edge of the Ansel Adams Wilderness boundary as it climbs to 8,000 feet in elevation. This short, high-country two-track weaves and wiggles between and around fallen trees and standing snags, and through dense, low-level green brush growing aggressively. As the trail is reclaimed by scrub, the amount of pinstriping will increase along with it. The trail dead-ends just above a granite rock knob at a dispersed campsite, rewarding you with fantastic 360-degree views in all directions. The surface is soft and loose.

Difficulty
This trail is generally easy, but the rating is earned by the final scramble up onto the granite rock knob, which is loose, steep, and off-camber in spots. It requires high clearance and 4WD engagement for traction on the climb.
