Open to Highway Legal Vehicles 4/1-12/31. Driving along this gravel road, taking in the views of various canyons, quail, pine, and chipmunks amongst the manzanitas. While it may be easy to glance at the shimmering colors from the slate weather early morning, mid-day, and sunset. This in-and-out trail offers some fantastic views at the end of Little Bald Mountain. There is little to no reception on this trail. This trail comes across many other trails within the area to loop back around. *Dual Road and Seasonal Snow Trail Routes* Road 0096 (Mosquito Ridge Road) is open to wheeled motorized vehicle travel by the public, except when managed as a snow trail as described in the "Special Seasonal Designations for Roads Managed as Tracked Over-Snow Vehicle Routes Table." For current Open/Closed Status of Road 0096, call the American River Ranger District at 530-367-2224 ext. 228.
