Trail Overview
Cal-Barrel is a dirt road to more trails in Redwood National Park. The road is gravel with some potholes and an incline nearly all the way to the end, where hiking trails begin. There are pullouts along the way and beautiful redwoods along the way. The road is pet-friendly between the turn-off from Newton B. Drury Scenic Parkway to the trailheads. Pedestrians should be cautious of blind turns where a driver may not see them or their pets. Note that the mileage was then what the sign reads.

Difficulty
Potholes are not bad and cars with typical clearance would be fine taking the road slowly and picking a good line. Due to the coastal location and lower elevation the road may get muddy but unlikely there would be snow at any time.
History
Originally a logging road.
