Trail Overview
This route alternates between hard-packed and loose sand while winding up and down through hills, following large power lines for reliable navigation reference. At times, it runs along a shelf road perched high above canyons below, creating dramatic exposure. Ruts, off-camber sections, and whoop sections all staying under 18 inches deep punctuate the varied terrain. The road gets really rough at the southwest end, where conditions deteriorate significantly compared to earlier sections.

Difficulty
The combination of ruts, off-camber sections, and whoops all under 18 inches creates accumulated technical challenges throughout. Hard-packed sections provide relief while loose sand demands momentum management and airing down. Those shelf road sections high above canyons require steady nerves and precise navigation. The southwest end getting really rough means saving energy for the most demanding section. Power lines provide excellent navigation, but don't ease the physical obstacles. High clearance and four wheel drive handle the sub-18-inch obstacles and varied surface conditions.
